The actual damage dealt is calculated by multiplying the base damage with five different factors:

Distance Modifier
Armor reduction
Hit Area Modifier
Weapon class modifier
Each precise body part has a different damage multiplier. It doesn't change based on anything.






Helmet and Vest reduce the damage taken for the highlighted bodyparts.
Different weapon classes have different damage multipliers. As you can see, SMGs have more weight on arm and leg shots, while Sniper Rifles have extra weight on head and torso shots.
This shows the combined damage multipliers from weapon class, body part hit, and selected gear level (Helmet Lv.2, Vest Lv.2). Distance multipliers are not considered here.
